As an organization that was founded by volunteers, HAWC understands the vital role that volunteers have in helping to fulfill our mission to end domestic and sexual violence. Historically, nearly hundreds of volunteers have helped us annually by serving as child care providers, hotline advocates, assisting with administrative duties and special events. With the ongoing pandemic and current precautions in place to include social distancing and other safety measures, some volunteer opportunities may be limited or excluded.

With the ongoing pandemic and current precautions in place to include social distancing and other safety measures, volunteer opportunities are limited at this time, but our need for help and support from the community continue.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Many of our new and future volunteer opportunities will take place in smaller groups or virtually.

We ask that you check back with us on this page to stay current on volunteer opportunities as they are announced. In the meantime, please sign up for the next volunteer orientation here: New Volunteer Orientation.

Collecting items and creating supply kits for our families:

Do-it-yourself kits are a way to directly impact survivors with their self-care and basic essential needs. This can also be a means for your family, co-workers and/or social groups to work as a team to make a difference and provide comfort to survivors during difficult times.

Spreading the word through Social Media:

Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and share with your followers.  Do not underestimate the impact of spreading the word through social media about resources available to survivors and anyone who needs help. Remember that letting those in need know that these resources are available is half the battle!
