The right volunteer role will depend on your comfort levels, skills, and availability. Working together, the Volunteer Department will assist in finding a meaningful and rewarding volunteer opportunity for you at HAWC.
Our procedures are in place to ensure a safe environment for our clients and staff, as well as our volunteers. Some volunteer positions have a distinct selection and training process, requiring you to attend follow-up staff interviews and complete required program training. For these trainings, volunteers must have been accepted as a volunteer by program staff and registered with the Volunteer Department.
Getting started as a new HAWC volunteer is a step-by-step process to ensure that each volunteer is properly oriented, matched, and trained. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and pass a criminal background check. We offer Volunteer Orientations quarterly based on the available volunteer trainings offered throughout the year.
We welcome your association, company, or organization to volunteer in one of our annual special events or to coordinate a special one-day project that is unique to your group! To ensure proper approval and planning, please email email@example.com at least 1-2 months prior to your targeted date. Please keep in mind that while we do have occasional weekend opportunities, most of our projects are available Monday – Friday. All volunteers must be over the age of 18.
