As an organization founded by volunteers, HAWC understands the vital role volunteers have in helping to fulfill our mission to end domestic and sexual violence.

Hundreds of volunteers help us annually by serving as childcare providers, creating care packages, and assisting with administrative duties and special events.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • 1- Create Supply Kits for Survivors and their Families. These kits are a way to directly impact survivors from a remote setting. Your family, co-workers, and social groups can work as a team to make a difference and provide comfort to survivors and their families. For a list of the types of items our clients need, please visit our Amazon Wishlist, which is divided by Supply Kit type. Compile at least 15 kits that include at least 4 items from one list, place them in freezer or gift bags, and reach out to giving@hawc.org to coordinate drop-off.
  • 2- Receive Volunteer Opportunity Updates. If you are interested in volunteering onsite or in the community, please complete our Volunteer Application to receive updates as opportunities become available. Please note, some volunteer opportunities require a background check and trainings to participate.
    • For corporate volunteer opportunities, please contact Elizabeth Oyelola, Manager of Development Operations, at eoyelola@hawc.org.
  • 3- Host a Community Partner Event. Turn your next bake sale, birthday party, fashion show, celebration, or special event into a fundraiser for HAWC! For more information, visit our Community Partner Event page.
