Thank you to all who joined the Houston Area Women’s Center for the Believe 2024 Luncheon.
HAWC’s annual Believe 2024 Luncheon was on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Marriott Marquis Houston. The luncheon brought together supporters, advocates, and those interested in learning more about our mission to share passion and commitment for our mission. This event helps HAWC raise critical funds to continue providing lifesaving services to survivors in Houston.
During this event, we launched our new #SurvivorsSpeak campaign, a vital initiative aimed at amplifying the powerful voices of survivors in a society that all too often places blame and shame on them. It is through the courageous voices of survivors that we can truly revolutionize systems, protocols, and understandings to provide them with the compassionate and trauma-informed care they deserve.
“Believe when survivors speak” is not a slogan. It is the beginning of finding solutions to sexual violence, domestic abuse, and sex trafficking. This is what we at HAWC have been doing every hour of the day, for the past 47 years.
