Corporate Giving Opportunities

For more information please reach out to Sarah Sparker Patel, Corporation and Foundation Relations Manager, at spatel@hawc.org or 713.528.6798 ext. 2233.

Houston Area Women’s Center offers selected group volunteering opportunities to corporations who annually contribute to HAWC. These opportunities are an excellent way to engage your team in our mission and do not require special volunteer training hours for participants.

  • Race Against Violence – March
Create a corporate team and “friend-raise” for funds among their peers. Employees can also volunteer the day of the race: to hand out waters, register runners, or help at the family festival (paint faces, build balloon animals, etc.) Volunteering is open to children. Can accommodate groups of up to 40.
  • Back to School – August
Volunteer at our Back to School, where our children and youth clients get to “shop” for school supplies before they return to school. We seek volunteers to help with sorting items and assisting “shoppers”. Can accommodate groups of up to 25.
  • Holiday Gift Express – December
Volunteer at our Holiday Gift Express event every December, where our children and youth clients get to “shop” for holiday gifts. We seek volunteers to help with sorting the supplies prior to the event and assisting “shoppers” in choosing their items during the event. Can accommodate groups of up to 25.
