Every October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) is observed across the nation as a call to action for communities to TAKE A STAND against domestic violence and let survivors know that they are not alone.
74% of Texans said that they or someone they know have been a victim of family violence.
1 in 3 female homicide victims are murdered by their current or former intimate partner.
The Women’s Center receives more than 40,000 domestic violence hotline calls every year.
DVAM is an important opportunity to build awareness by spreading information like this and encouraging the public to take action. We hope that you'll join us in the movement to end violence by supporting our awareness efforts and programs and services throughout October and beyond.
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:
Our Facebook and Twitter pages are always great resources for sharing information. Every day, we share numerous posts with content relating to domestic violence, sexual assault and our mission to help survivors.

Keep the conversation going!
Continue supporting survivors and encouraging others to help promote a world free from the affects of violence. Continue sharing information and resources connecting to our hotline and services. You never know whose life might be changed by seeing it...
...because, while domestic violence happens every day of the year, each day also brings an opportunity for survivors to learn that there is a path to hope and healing.
